Tree detail in the Ardennes Forest

While visiting the Ardennes region of central Belgium I took this shot showing the detail of the nearest tree. How many of the US 101st Airborne Easy Company had this exact same view? This photo was taken right by their now long abandoned foxholes. There was something very eerie about that forest and it was strange that little grew on the forest floor. Stand up tress, stand up tall - may we never have that level of war again!
